I want to break into animation, doing visual development art and character design, therefore I created this short clip, containing a small selection of my work. I hope I'll get noticed by some studios...
Thanks, Susanna! @ DavidM: I will attend sketchoholic again when I have the time for it! It's a lot of fun! The music is by Tommy Emmanuel @ Willborough. Thanks. I just browsed through yourblog. Really great stuff!
the visual development shouldn't be a problem at all , however for character design, in this reel, i see a lot 'illustrative' designs and charictures (obviously what you have done before) but no animation characters that could be leads. probably i'm missing some drawings with characters that suck me right in with their eyes and expressions and bodyposture. hard to explain, i'm probably talking nonsense here haha
Wonderful stuff Wouter, I have a lot of the Art of.. books and these would fit right in. I agree that you could add a section with lead characters, a page with different facial expressions always helps too. Also, I'm not sure if you should end with the Monroe charicature, it's a great painting but maybe not suited for the market you're targeting? The painting of the horse and man in the rain on the mountain is a classic.

Not at all, Tek. I think your comment is very useful, and I definately see what you mean! Thanks very much!
Oh, die is toch uit een kinderboekje? Die heb ik, het is m'n favoriete geillustreerde boek! Prachtige platen!

Thanks Erik, great feedback. I think you're right about the Monroe illustration. When I have new works to add, I'll create a new demo.
can't believe you're "hoping" to get noticed - it's clear that you will - your stuff rocks !
:-)
Brilliant! Your works are great, good luck!
supervet! Als dit niet wordt opgemerkt, wat voor hoop is er dan nog voor illustratoren? Succes :)

Break into animation? Wow, you're already there.
That's awesome. I thought you already were working in an animation studio or had come from one.
