Armstrong

It has been a while since I last did a caricature. I had lots of fun exaggerating features once again!

Gouache

I wanted to experiment with other kinds of watercolor paper, and create a composition based on photo reference.  I used a japanese brush, and I like the randomness of the shapes of its brushstrokes.

December 5th

Today is the big day for a lot of children in holland: 'Sinterklaas' a typical dutch tradition. At the moment I am working on character designs for the 2D animated feature 'trippel trappel' about this event. Although Sinterklaas will be leaving after tonight, I will be drawing him and his helpers for the following weeks... I hope to share more designs soon.

Happy 'pakjesavond' everyone!

sketch

Childrens book concept illustration

I'm trying to find the right look for a story written by Tjibbe Veldkamp. I do like the looseness of the sketchlines still in this final illustration.
