Skullduggery Pleasant
Noor and her runaway parents
It was a challenge to use only black, white and grey, and create different layers with these elements.

Krukel #3

These are illustrations I did for the third part of the 'Krukel' books. ( published in English with the title: " Urchin of the riding stars" -with other cover illustrations -. The script has been sold to Miramax, so maybe there will be a film of the book) The illustrations are for the Dutch publication of the book.
I wanted to capture an adventurous atmosphere, of squirrels sneeking out in the dead of the night, and others exploring caves underground.
The third picture is an illustration for the back of the book, so text will be put over the clouds.
The last picture is just an idea of what the layout will be.

Santana
Here's a sketch of Santana. I want to do a painting of it, maybe in oils. I hope I can find the time, since I am really busy doing children's book illustrations and book covers. I'll post them later on.

Mata Hari
This is a book cover for a book about Mata Haris daughter. I wanted to create an early 20th century feel, using art nouveau elements. Also I wanted it to have an adventurous look, so I created a collage in the tradition of Drew Struzans movieposters. The result became a bit slick, but good for its purpose.
Artoonator
This is a caricature of my good friend and colleague artist, the Artoonator. Check out his work:
